I selected this tent for the size and reasonably light weight. For two people, the backpacking weight is just a bit over 2-1/2 pounds per person which is not bad considering the size and large dual vestibules. It is a bit larger than most comparably dome tents inside which is a plus if you are tall or wish to stow some gear inside the tent. The gear vestibules on both sides are also larger than most, and being able to enter and stow gear on both sides is a plus as you don’t have to step over someone else to get in or out. The tent is well constructed and goes up quickly. With the dual vents on top and generous screening I have not had any significant problems with condensation, and the full fly ensures you will remain dry even in severe weather. The only negative I’ve noticed is the snap at the bottom of the fly zipper, which can be a pain to close from the inside of the tent, but this is a relatively minor issue. Overall a great buy! Rating: 5 / 5
I bought this tent a couple weeks ago and just took it out for a two night backpacking trip. The tent was a breeze to set up. It was very roomy. I was the only person in it and had plenty of room to sleep and store my equipment. I’m avg height and had no problem sitting up in the tent – lots of head room. It didn’t rain, so I can only comment that it worked well in dry weather. There was no condensation on the inside of the tent, which, along with needing more room, was a concern of mine. I loved the ease of entry on either side of the tent. I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 for two reasons: 1) as mentioned in prior reviews, the floor seems a bit thin and 2) packed in it’s normal sack, it’s a bit long and extends past the sides of my backpack. But, for the size of the tent it’s not too big of a deal; it is about 5 inches longer than my old tent, so maybe just need to get used to it. I would definitely recommend this tent. One person has a ton of space and it looks like two could be comfortable in it. One of the rare ‘two-man’ tents that looks like it could sleep two and not be too cramped. Rating: 4 / 5
we took it out once so far and didn’t bother with a rain fly. it’s a great tent and highly recommend it. Rating: 5 / 5
I bought this tent for it’s nice roomy floor dimensions since I am 6′2″ tall. Those dimensions stood out over the crowd of 2-man tents with not much difference in weight. However, be aware that those dimensions are taken without the tent erected. When the tent is erected the floor pulls up and loses approx. 5 inches total per side. I can’t speak for any field tests but the plastic clips that hold the poles to the corners appear flimsy and may eventually wear or get walked on causing failure. The old webbing and grommet style designs are simple and make more sense to me for durability. The poles connect at the center/top with another flimsy looking plastic arrangement that requires correct orientation or the tent can’t be clipped on with it’s special little fragile looking clip. I returning the tent because of the dimension issue. Rating: 3 / 5
The main issue with this tent is the poor quality of the mosquito netting which comprises a good deal of the tent. This is the first tent that I have owned where the netting getting pulls in it. I am quite careful with my gear and was surprised after a few uses to have pulls. The design is good and set up is easy. Rating: 2 / 5
